Two Oceans Aquarium

We flew from Windhoek first thing Tuesday morning in a rather uneventful but typical African fashion. It took about an hour and a half to get checked in so that by the time we were processed we walked right on the plane. It’s not that we got to the airport late, it’s that between each transaction (issuing boarding pass, checking luggage) the entire system would go down and they would have to wait for it to come back online. C managed to get through all of Toy Story so he was rather pleased.

After we landed we left the airport in record time – we’re getting better at this. It only took an hour and a half this time to clear all of the airport nonsense, collect our car, install two carseats and head on our way. We went straight from the airport to the waterfront to check out the Two Oceans Aquarium.

Despite repeatedly telling us he did NOT want to go to the aquarium and did NOT want to see penguins or sharks or fish, C had a blast. That child ran from top to bottom of the aquarium. He was particularly enthusiastic about the Nemo fish – which they have in a tube that they let the kids crawl into (super neat) and the shark tunnel.

After a few hours we headed to Bracknell, just outside of Stellenbosch (wine country) to Nollie. We got everyone to bed before we enjoyed our first braai with Nollie.
